About Us

History

Founded in 1993 by President and CEO, Nathaniel J. Williams, HumanWorks Affiliates (formerly known as SpectrumServices) evolved from a srategic plan to expand the services of the former Foundation for Progressive Living and incorporate additional programs based on recongnized community needs.

Every day HWA helps over 200 people in our residential programs achieve their hopes and dreams. Dreams can vary in size and scope from a Phoenix Services, Inc. resident who one day wants to have their own apartment and live independently; to a Spectrum Community Services, Inc. resident who wants to retire from their sheltered workshop program and enjoy time with their cat at home; or the many ChildFirst Services, Inc. residents who want to go to college.

For ten years we have helped adults and children with special needs and children in placement discover who they are and who they want to be.
